Printer cartridges are made up of a complex combination of plastics, metals, foam, ink and toner. Throwing them into landfill represents a waste of resources and contributes to the growing problem of electronic waste. By recycling your cartridges you are helping to:

• Divert waste from landfill
• Recover resources such as plastics, metals and inks that are then used to make new products
• Reduce greenhouse gases

JB HiFi is a collection partner for ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’. Bring your used printer, ink or toner cartridges back to any JB HiFi store and drop them into our ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ collection boxes. Any type and any brand of cartridge can be recycled.

‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ guarantees that there is zero waste to landfill for the Close the Loop cartridge recycling processes - every component of every cartridge in the program is reused or recycled.

Taking responsibility

The ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ program is an example of an effective extended producer responsibility program. The Participating Manufacturers, Brother, Canon, Epson, Konica Minolta and Lexmark, pay for the collection and recycling of their cartridges. They are talking responsibility for the items they manufacture.
