Rated 1 out of 5 by from FOR A TOP END ROUTER BIG DISAPPOINTMENT I HAVE NOW OWNED THIS NETGEAR X8 FOR TWO MONTHS AND DURING THAT TIME IT'S LACKED WIFI RANGE COMPARED TO MY X4S AND X6 THAT I WAS USING, IT FAILED TWICE DURING THE SETUP, AND AFTER TWO MONTHS IT HAS STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER IT WON'T PICK UP ETHERNET OR WIFI AT ALL OUT OF ALL THE NETGEAR ITEMS I'VE OWNED I'D RATE THIS THE WORST I WOULD RECOMMEND CUSTOMERS BUY THE X6 OVER THIS MODEL AS THE X6 HAS A FAR BETTER WIFI RANGE AND WORKS BETTER.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty, faulty, faulty Purchased one three weeks ago, worked great till it just stopped working four days later, wouldn't do anything and netgear couldn't help me at all told me to get a replacement. Got myself a new one, worked great for two weeks now the exact same issue had happened again, just stopped working whilst I was watching YouTube. Absolutely terrible product for $700.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible experience - I liked Netgear before this I have owned this product since Oct 2016 in that time it has never worked with all my networking needs. 7 hours on the phone with Netgear support, TPG etc and its the Netgear product at fault. Totally underwelmed Netgear... On advice I purchased the cheapest modem/router you can buy, $49 and it worked out of the box. Now need to purchase new higher spec replacement...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Firmware update killed this The day after I bought this I did the recommended firmware upgrade and it completely killed the device. Wouldn't boot at all and I couldn't even do a manual firmware downgrade. If you buy one of these, don't do the firmware upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from phenomenal speed, easy setup, a bit pricey. 10/10 would recommend if you have the money to spend. apart from the price, this router is a beast. it took about 5 minutes to actually set up with a easy set up guide included. i dont know how other reviews said they didnt get good range because when i tested mine i got 5 houses down the road and was still connected!. it you want to get the fastest speed possible to multiple deviced with no lag i highly recommend the x8.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor product Faulty product, I've had one that lasts for a month and had it replaced through RMA, the replacement didn't last long as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WiFi Range WiFi range is not as advertised. The price is top of the line. But the product is not.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pathetic I installed it the evening I got it, it worked perfectly. Next morning it kept flicking on and off and was totally useless. Doesn't help that they don't even provide you with a diagram for the various lights, let alone a something to enable trouble shooting. Perhaps that would be too many pages!
