    Key Features

Heart Rate Measured at the Wrist
Forerunner 235 with Elevate™ heart rate technology measures heart rate at the wrist 24/7, giving you the option to run without a strap. Its colorful gauge identifies your heart rate zone and beats per minute in real time.

Customize Your Watch and Your Training
No two runners are the same, and neither are their goals. Set yourself up to reach yours by downloading advanced workouts and training plans to your watch from Garmin Connect. You can even customize your data fields, and download watch faces, widgets and applications all for free at Connect IQ.

On and Off the Road Running
A built-in accelerometer captures distance and pace data when you’re running on an indoor track or treadmill, with no need for a separate foot pod accessory. Once you’re done running, it doubles as an activity tracker², counting your steps and calories throughout the day. It also reminds you to move after sitting for more than an hour. Forerunner 235 is compatible with GPS and GLONASS satellites to locate your position quickly and precisely whether you’re running deep in the woods or near tall buildings.

    It's Simple. Period.
Concise, easy-to-understand charts, graphs, maps and more let you view your activities, track progress toward goals and wirelessly upload and share relevant data directly with the online Garmin Connect network. So, you can compete with friends or family members on weekly step or running challenges — and compare your results in real time, using the LiveTrack feature. You can also use the app’s wireless connectivity links to receive current weather conditions, forecasts and smart notifications right on your compatible Garmin device.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Convenient.... But not great I bought this with the hope that I would never have to wear a horrible chest strap heart rate monitor again... But was sadly disappointed. I have been using heart rate monitors for the most part of the last 10 years and was excited to find a wrist based monitor that might actually work. Unfortunately, this watch isn't what it claims to be. The heart rate monitor is sporadic and can get stuck on a clearly incorrect number for a long period of time. For example, I could be running up a hill and my heart rate is reporting as 66bpm when it should be more like 160! It seems buggy and makes me sad that it isn't what I thought it would be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look no further - this is the BEST running watch After spending almost three weeks reading up on which watch would be best for me (mid-distance running, gym & biking) I finally decided on the Garmin 235. And I have not been disappointment. Running with it is fantastic - it provides me with kilometre updates and much more. It's interface is really easy to use, and when paired with the app on your smartphone or computer you get so many insights. If you're trying to decide on an entry level running watch that does so much (including heart rate, sleep & step tracking + more) than don't go past the Garmin 235. I can't recommend it enough!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from HR monitor is a joke If you want a GPS watch to track your running then this watch will be fine. The problem is the HR monitor is a complete waste of time. For fitness training and trying to stay in a certain training zone the inbuilt HR monitor made it impossible. It fluctuates all the time, and during exercise the values are completely wrong. I had to get a chest strap for more usable data - I`d guess on average during exercise the HR shown from the watch was at least 30-40 beats off. There is a reason Garmin is so grey and stating HR accuracy( and even on the Garmin website for this product that message pops up on HR accuracy). Never expected it to be so bad and useless wrt HR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running watch, limited battery life. I bought this watch to replace my old Forerunner 405 that finally died after so many years. I bought it primarily as a running watch, hence the choice of Forerunner rather than the Vivosmart / Fenix watches. That said, I find it to be a great general purpose watch, given it tracks my steps, HR, sleep and does a basic job of notifications from my phone. It's not t0o bulky; the plastic makes it extremely light and the strap is very adjustable and comfortable. The only thing I would have liked is stronger battery life. Right now I recharge it basically every 3-4 days, but then given it is a 24hr/day tracker, I guess that's not so bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic mid-range sports watch Purchased this as a birthday present for my husband. He loves it. It connects to it's own app on your phone, or other apps if you prefer. Functions primarily off GPS so a smart phone is not essential but definitely a bonus. The colours look great and make it suitable for everyday wear. If you are looking for a great mid-range sports watch, I highly recommend this one. I have a very happy husband, and I am considering buying a second one for myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sports watch Best sports watch I have had. Has everything I need and more. The only negative is that I have a small wrist and the watch face is quite large but it still looks good for everyday wear for work and play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best on the Market! After searching for months, I am absolutely wrapt that I chose the Garmin Forerunner 235 for my fitness watch. Easy to use features, great apps to monitor your stats and guide you at the gym along with consistent heart rate monitoring are just a few of the reasons why the forerunner is the best on the market. My favourite feature would have to be the calorie counter making this the complete package!
