Rated 5 out of 5 by from Booming sounds I was pleasantly surprised with the thunderous and detailed sounds this provides. Actually have to keep it below half way to avoid blowing the windows of this dungeon. It's crispy and the Google Assistant is no doubt the best AI on the market

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Assistant is good, sound is ok The sound isn't that good on this speaker. The sound at higher volumes is distorted as has overwhelming bass. However the google assistant is very useful. In my opinion, if you are on Android, this is a decent option but if with Apple, the HomePod is far superior in sound quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound quality for the price. Very pleased with the sound quality from this speaker. It's a significant step up from the similarly priced Sony sound bar + sub I have in the adjacent room. It's a very noticeable difference when I'm doing multiroom casting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Sound Well worth the money. When it comes to Bluetooth speakers the quality is second to none. From classical to rock it's clear with no distortion. Had the volume up to 70 % and Wow...amazing sound. Can't wait to purchase my second one to have that pure stereo sound. Google assistant so easy to use and even with high volume. This does not disappoint.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So close yet so far I purchased this product for two primary purposes. 1. Play music directly via wired 1.8mm connection and Bluetooth. 2. Stream favourite radio stations like ABC Classic FM. The good: Sound quality is respectable from what is a sturdy unit. Most reviews sing it’s praises here however it does not deliver sub responses. It will be more than adequate for most people but if you crave the punch of a subwoofer you will not be satisfied. I love the conservative looks. It has little distortion at maximum volume but I suspect that is because the bass levels don’t increase much beyond 80% volume, just the treble and midrange. The Bad: Considering this is meant to be a “smart” device it left me completely underwhelmed. Google has forced radio streaming to be provided by either iheartradio or tunein web services. They are both unreliable and particularly fussy with your requests. For example, “ok google play ABC Classic radio” would invariably result in “playing ABC classic 2 on iHeartRadio” which is a different channel. The only way I could get it to select the correct station was to say “ok google play ABC Classic 92.9 FM”. A mouthful for anyone to remember! It would be ok if somehow you could teach it so when you say “ok google play classical music” you could have that tag linked to the full station frequency or even a streaming URL of your choice but no such luck. This consistently happened with several prominent radio stations. It seems like Google is only interested in providing traffic to third party companies and their subscription services. For that reason, sadly I suspect not much will change in this regard. The other disappointing issue is the unit automatically switches to AUX whenever it senses a signal on AUX input. This is frustrating because I sometimes have an external source playing and I wish to listen to the news etc. when I say “ok google play the news” it attempts to switch to a news stream but then quickly switches back to AUX without being asked. The other problem is it’s just not a snappy performer at all. If only it had some local caching the response times could be far faster. For these reasons it is inadequate for my purposes and only made me immensely frustrated with it’s apparent incompetence. Unfortunately I cannot recommend it. I really do hope google decide to make this a true smart product and increase the ability to customise it to realise it’s full potential.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing Special Constantly drops out from WIFI connection and pairing with google mini. Sound quality nothing spectacular. Bose and Sonos far better.
