Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Unit Great unit all round. Mobile through it is better than thru radio with no delay. Screen image and volume are great. Files are easy to access on the pc and have volume. No need to download extra programs to see files like other brands. Don't know if other bad reviews are for the same unit regarding glare because you can adjust the camera angle so put it anywhere on the windscreen and why would you want to muck around with the firmware? Only need to update the maps maybe from time to time not muck around with the firmware. Have tried a few brands of these combos and this one leaves them all for dead, highly recommend this unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Unit - but don't update the software!!!!! On my second unit - both work fine out of the box but when you do the updates the speed alerts and other audible alerts do not work correctly. Logged with Garmin for over a month ago - completed fault finding at their request and sent two software files from both units to assist their tech staff - been informed it has been escalated numerous times - yet to be contacted by a techie or be notified of a resolution. Latest info from Garmin is it will be the New Year before it can be actioned. Don't rely on the safely camera updates - several long standing ( 5 years plus ) safety cameras in Adelaide Metro do not appear on this unit. Well done JB on offering a no hassle exchange - shame Garmin didn't step up to your level of support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great GPS and dash cam in one. This unit is great , has Bluetooth , wireless updates , dashcam, easy to use and see GPS , voice commands etc. The only downside is the glass is super reflective and when you angle the unit to minimize reflections it throws the camera angle out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick easy and hassle free I purchased this GPS including a webcam, so it does two jobs in one unit. I cannot fault it. I am quite happy with the overall performance of both the GPS and the camera system. I also bought a traffic receiver cable which allows the unit to process traffic congestion in the area and let you know. Although it is not perfect, it has been helpful using this feature. Saying that, it is what it is and is the same with any GPS. The traffic system is as good as the infrastructure and not fault of the GPS. Overall, for an everyday user, this unit is really great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice unit, but using old technology with charging I bought this unit as I like Garmin's maps and features etc. I'm traveling to NZ for several weeks, hiring a camper van and I've found out the company has replaced all the cigarette lighter sockets with wired in dual USB ports in all their vehicles. Sadly the Garmin units do not have the capacity to use just a USB port for Navigation and recharging, it actually needs the cigarette lighter socket to charge to unit and be able to navigate. On this basis alone, Garmin is not suitable. So if you're traveling oversea's, it will pay you to check this one simple little thing, does the hire vehicle still have a cigarette lighter socket or are they now wired in USB ports. This may not happen to everyone, but it's happened to me. I've been in contact with Garmin and made suggestions to overcome this small but inconvenient problem. On this basis alone, I'm not recommending this Garmin unit. I've bought the TomTom GO 620 which whilst doesn't have a built in dashcam, the features aren't that far away from the Garmin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from yea - i dont love it The camera sits too far towards the middle of the body (rather than up top) so if you mount it so that it doesn't obscure your driving view, and is (nearly) within reach for using, it doesn't get much of a view for the camera (obscured by the wipers). Previously I've had a NAVMAN and i much prefer its navigating (can or worms). This thing has two options, shorted or easiest (something like that) and they are both, quiet often, UNuseful. You can preview route and change but its complicated and very clunky.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall I'm quite happy with it I bought my new Garmin Drive Assist 51 Sat Nav due to a holiday to Tasmania. It received quite a workout. I found the Voice Command module very handy. As I had no local knowledge, I could find supermarkets and petrol stations with ease, whilst using the Voice Command module, which was also handy to go "hands free" when providing an address for navigation. From time to time however, the Voice Command had no idea on what I was saying, so it can be a bit hit and miss, but for most of our journey, it was a very helpful tool. When navigating, the commands were also very useful, particularly on Victoria's freeway system. The only issue we noticed was a reference to going through the 2nd exit for roundabouts that didn't exist - no issue, just funny I guess. Otherwise, overall the new model is quite an advancement on my previous Garmin SatNav and I am quite happy with it, being very pleased to have this tool that assists my driving safety, not mention the inbuilt Dash Cam as an all-in-one unit - excellent.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cann't Navigate Works perfectly in every respect except it cannot acquire satellites. Tried for 3 days to acquire a satellite and failed. If it cannot acquire a satellite, it cannot navigate. I though that is what it's supposed to do.
