Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great MAchine until the froth pump failed. Firstly, the JB Hifi Staff are always amazing, so this is purely about the machine for review. I bought this machine to replace my old Sunbeam which the pump failed on after about 5 years so I got a great run out of it. Instead of getting the same model I was advised how much better the EM7000 was. Well today after 1 year and 4 days the machines milk froth pump failed so now no more milk frothing. An $800 machine and now just out of a year I have to replace it or repair it. Absolutely not happy with the quality of their internal components. The milk frothing wand can be inconsistent with pressure to the milk frequently. Also the milk froth temperature wand is way off. When it says it is optimal temperature it is actually overheated and the milk starts to separate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine, cafe quality coffee Purchased this machine on sale in August 2015 and am so happy with it. It has taken me some practice but I am now making cafe quality lattes etc with it. The secret, I have discovered, is tamping the coffee hard into the portafilter to get the perfect crema!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Full featured consistent machine I have used this machine at home almost daily for nearly 18 months - never missed a beat in that time! Be sure and use de-ionised water to prevent any potential issues - I live in Perth where the tap water is particularly hard on coffee machines, so I use the pureau boxed water available from supermarkets. I didn't realise 100% until after I purchased the machine that it was a dual thermo block rather than a dual boiler - but this hasn't been an issue. The milk steam is expressed at a consistent pressure and i have no trouble frothing milk to a silky smooth consistency. Make sure you have a reasonable grinder and fresh beans and you're on a winner! You can get better results from a more expensive machine, but in this price bracket I have no complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from served me so well I had this machine from new for over 4 years in which time I it performed brilliantly for the price. I had only 2 services with part replacements needed. On upgrading I have given to a friend who loves it to. 7 years on still making great coffee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for daily home use I've owned this machine for three months now after upgrading from a 6910 which was starting to lose its ability to pressurise consistently after five years. This machine is quieter, in both heating phase as well as coffee pouring and steaming functions than the 6910. It's also not as messy to use. The only thing I don't like is that when the water level reaches 1L, it beeps loudly every time you activate a function. I think the red light is more than sufficient when there is still plenty of water in the tank. But the coffee making process is super easy and consistent, and you can steam and pour a shot at the same wine, which is what I want in a machine. It feels solid and looks nice on the bench too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch coffee at home After using this brilliant machine at home for quite a while now, I can highly recommend this Cafe Series machine to anyone wanting to make excellent coffee in their own home. It is very well designed and built; made from beautiful stainless steel, it is sturdy and reliable. Works as is supposed to every time. Large water capacity, quick warm-up time, integrated temperature sensor in the steam wand, cup warming zone and easy to clean. This product simply works as it should and does it well. Good job Sunbeam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lasted me for years without problems I have had this for more than five years now and it has not missed a beat. It does need very finely ground coffee packed tightly to get high pressure, you can tell fresh beans by how slow the pour goes. I do struggle to get textured milk but that might be my technique and hilo milk. Recommend it highly for a semiautomatic machine.
