Rated 1 out of 5 by from Electronic Issues - Replacement Kettle same issue We are on our second kettle after an electronic fault in the first one (replaced under warranty). Sadly this one is having a different electrical fault where it will decide not to work at random times. The old turn it off then turn it on again works sometimes, other times not. I'd say there is some faults in the circuitry given this is the second kettle to have this intermittent electronic issue. We have a lot of Sunbeam products and have been happy with them (including others in the Cafe Series) - the quality of this product for the price isn't justifiable, especially when marketed as a higher quality kettle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best kettles I have bought but... I visit Australia from the UK once a year to visit my best friends. In January 2018, I came over and purchase this kettle to take back to the UK. Both of my friends had the kettle and I was so impressed I bought one. They are far better made than any you can get in the UK. I got it back safely and now 6 months on it has one serious and concerning issue, that is the plastic that surrounds the see-through panel is slowly breaking, see the pics. I am afraid at some point it will go completely rendering it useless. Luckily, this is only on the outside and not inside the boiling chamber. My problem is that I am in the UK and I would love to replace it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not great Pros: Amazing feature set, we love all the different temperatures so we can use it at lots of different temperatures as opposed to boiling and waiting for it to cool down Cons: Lid broke just after a year. Bits of plastic fell out of the hinge and we found we'd been boiling out water with them in it. Looking through the reviews it appears we're not the only ones experiencing this, Not quiet at all. We can even hear it in our backyard. This thing really needs some improvement. We've had to go buy another kettle because of the lid issue which is a shame considering this is literally 3 times the price of other kettles in the same range at the store we went to.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last I love the idea of this kettle, and while working it’s got great features. The variable temp setting is super useful- I’ve used it to water to the right temp for making bread, and I really liked the extended boil time for baby formula etc. However, the built quality is extremely poor for the price. We were fortunate enough to have sunbeam replace our first one just out of warranty when the temp sensor started to play up causing constant beeping and stopping the unit from turning off once boiled. The second kettle is now doing the same thing. This time though, the mechanism to open the lid has also failed and we also have to pry it open with a knife. For such an expensive kettle, it should last much much longer. A terrible waste that will end up in landfill!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what i needed with minor issues I have this kettle for about a year now. It's still running but sometimes it beeps while heating up, i think it has to do with the thermometer function because it keeps changing the countdown to boil when it beeps. Also like other users have reported some buttons have started peeling off. Not incredibly quiet, but quiet-ish. HOWEVER! It is the only kettle in the market that sterilises water and that's it's best feature. Another user is wondering whats the use of the sterilise feature. Firstly it's great for anyone needing sterilised water such as people with medical conditions as well as for sterilisation of baby bottles etc.... Secondly, sterilised water contains less oxygen which is great because if you are a green tea drinker you know already the benefits of antioxidants and polyphenols in the green tea. Did you know however that the oxygen in the water kills the antioxidants? The only way around it is to use water that has been boiling continuously for some time and contains less oxygen. So thank you Sunbeam for this unique product that has heaps of useful features despite the minor issues. I am considering to purchase one more as a backup in case it gets discontinued as there is no other kettle in the market like it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality just not there 2nd faulty lid On my 2nd one now after 1st one having a faulty lid, 2nd one now the same problem, also not always recognising heating base and now the handle is coming away from the kette at the top. For the price tag you would expect a bit of longevity. Could be great, but even if it was half the price it still wouldn't be a good buy. I'm happy to pay more for something that is made well and lasts. Disappointed

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken in under a year Have this kettle at home, functions still work although during the boiling process the alert sound repeatedly goes off. It is worse than an alarm, beeps around 15 times in the minute or so that it takes to boil the water. Looked for a repair shop via this website and apparently there are none in my Melbourne suburban region... that's a lot of money to go to waste...
