Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worth a watch. I bought this in Blu ray 3D - which has the non-3D version included. The movie is made in a Chinese/Hollywood collaboration with a few Hollywood stars to add to the appeal. It's one of those movies which is heavy on special effects and light on a good story - almost like the story was made to fit the effects ideas rather than the other way around. Nevertheless, it's a bit of reasonably enjoyable movie-watching, although not necessarily one you'd feel like watching over a lot. If you like some CGi and a bit of offbeat storytelling then you'll probably enjoy it. The CGi effects are not top-class, but not really bad either - I've seen much worse. So, is it worth buying? Well, it's not likely to be in your top 10 fav movies, but if you like sci-fi/fantasy-style movies (and in an ancient setting), I think you'll find it enjoyable enough. I did, even though it's certainly not even close to being in my fav list either. I feel that it's worth buying so long as it's at a 'cheaper' price - definitely not the 'new-release' type prices. For those wondering about the 3D? Like many 3D movies, some are fantastic and others more 'just ok' (and some just plain awful!). This is a 'just ok' one. There's lots of arrows in the battle scenes which work for the 3D, but aside from those, it's 3D is more mediocre. It actually reminds me somewhat of the newer movie 'The Meg' in that it's production is obviously a Chinese collaboration, and where attempted glitzy CGi tends to be considered of greater importance than a well-written story.
