We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out.

In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou). Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A fun surprise I didn’t have high hopes but was surprised and delighted with the youthful joyous of the characters. Will be a huge hit with the younger viewers but it also offers a lot to older viewers by reminding the of what it’s like to be a kid. A solid mix of comic book antics, action, social issues and a good helping of morality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a dissappointment Possibly the worst DC movie of all time. And I've seen Batman and Robin! This thing was a low stakes pointless mess. Had no theme, no point, the humour was awful and awkward. And the final battle is kinda to save some people on a Ferris Wheel or something. Throw in some people getting their heads torn off and eaten by demons.. And you've got a film that doesn't know what it wants to be.
