Description

    Sometimes the answer is as simple as learning to listen.

    Shoya Ishida starts bullying the new girl in class, Shoko Nishimiya, because she is deaf. But as the teasing continues, the rest of the class starts to turn on Shoya for his lack of compassion. When they leave elementary school, Shoko and Shoya do not speak to each other again... until an older, wiser Shoya, tormented by his past behaviour, decides he must see Shoko once more. He wants to atone for his sins, but is it already too late??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top tier movie A Silent Voice is an experience that I encourage everyone to experience. It is a story of redemption and self acceptance. The artwork is always consistent and beautifully animated The soundtrack is conceptual and great care was put into it to ensure it represents the characters well. Possibly the best use of soundtrack in any anime I've seen. Unfortunately this movie has been overshadowed by Your Name's success even though A Silent Voice is in almost every sense a better film.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant Classic I bought this not knowing much about the movie but I'm so glad I did. It was a beautiful story; right up there with 'Your Name'. I strongly recommended this to anyone who enjoyed 'Your Name' or anything we likes Slice of Life anime. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Charming movie. After the first 20 minutes which I feel is hard going due to the unlikeable main character, he changes and the movie is a joy to watch again and again. The movie Your Name is mentioned alot along with this, but the two are very different with their own strengths. Highly welcomed into my collection.
