It is a date that will be remembered for all time, 20th July 1969 - the day man first set foot upon the moon. That one shining moment was witnessed by a television audience of 600 million people across the globe. Remarkably, those immortal images came via a "dish" in outback Australia. It may have been one small step for man, but for a handful of Aussie scientists, it was a giant leap. And one that almost didn't happen.

Based on an amazing true story, the creators of the award winning hit comedy "The Castle" tell the funny and moving tale of Australia's part in the Apollo 11 moon mission. Critically acclaimed world-wide the biggest local box-office smash in years stars Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Kevin Harrington (Seachange), Tom Long (Two Hands) and Patrick Warburton (Scream 3).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd Time's the Charm After last May's abortive release, Roadshow went back and took the time to get The Dish right on Blu-ray. We can all dream of 4k restorations, but what we have is a genuine HD transfer of a catalogue film, as good as we're ever likely to get for this comedy classic. I love this film, and I'm very happy with the reissued disc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Aussie Gem I saw this movie on TV when it was first released and was delighted to see it re-released on bluray. It's a great classic and great to see the era portrayed so well. I was also delighted to see lots of familiar Aussie Faces in the cast. As a child we holidayed in Parks, and saw *The dish*, it made me want to go back again, I am sure the area has changed a lot since I was last there. Fun movie, definitely worth seeing either again - or - for the first time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but inaccurate “ Remarkably, those immortal images came via a "dish" in outback Australia.” Not true. First images were from Honeysuckle Creek station near Canberra. Nevertheless, an entertaining movie.
