Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly captures the heart and soul of Ed Wood 1994's Ed Wood is the second team up between Tim Burton and Johnny Depp and offers a deeply affectionate look at '50's sci fi and horror film fandom. Focusing on the relationship between notoriously bad filmmaker Ed Wood Jr and Bela Lugosi. One at the beginning of his career and the other at the end. The film boasts an eclectic and entertaining suppport cast, incredible cinematography by Stefan Czapsky and nostalgic music by Howard Shore. The special features are worth the purchase alone. The commentary is a compiled from various interviews from all aside from DP Stefan Czapsky, who is actually watching the film and provides entertaining insight and technical details. The rest of the features come in at just under 10 minutes aside from the production feature, which is closer to 30 mins. An anniversary edition from Criterion would be greatly appreciated if/when it ever happens.
