Description

Eastwood stars as Earl Stone, a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he’s just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does well—so well, in fact, that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler. But he isn’t the only one keeping tabs on Earl; the mysterious new drug mule has also hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates. And even as his money problems become a thing of the past, Earl’s past mistakes start to weigh heavily on him, and it’s uncertain if he’ll have time to right those wrongs before law enforcement, or the cartel’s enforcers, catch up to him.

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Mule kicks......... Do not agree with the previous reviews, guess they expect 88 year old Clint to still be doing his 'Dirty Harry' thing? This film is entertaining, and refreshing to see Clint Eastwood acting his age, something many other stars seem reluctant to do! No, it's not in the 'Gran Torino' class, but it's an enjoyable film, loosely based on fact, some very funny moments, and, a couple of scarier ones, Clint's daughter plays his daughter in this film, and it's mainly a story about a man trying to reconcile with his estranged family while there's still time. I for one, enjoyed it, and if it turns out to be Clint Eastwood's swan song on screen, he goes out with a good one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Venerable Harry If you're looking for Dirty Harry you'll be disappointed, but I'd be disappointed if Clunk was still trying to play Dirty Harry at his age. Instead this movie offers an interesting if slightly predictable take on growing old in an America that seems to be getting more dog eat dog with every passing year. This in turn produces the moral pitfalls and choices that otherwise 'good' people are forced into, maybe at first as a temporary expedient, but then become a way of life (and death). An interesting reflection of how the pursuit of money/career in order to provide for a family may also end up destroying it. Anyway, never though I'd see him playing the role of a flower expert. Good stuff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clint Eastwood - Breaks Bad I saw this movie at Croydon Cinemas and I thought, it was quite good. In this movie, Clint Eastwood doesn't play his standard tough guy role, but is instead a old man who is in his twilight years, in financial difficulty and estranged from his family. He naively takes a Driving Job with a Drug Cartel moving drugs from El Paso, Texas to Illinois, not initially aware what he is really doing. I don't why some of the other reviewers bagged this movie, as I thought it was quite good and entertaining.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A grandpa movie Wow! This movie was bad. I was not expecting to be amazing, but come on, it's Clint Eastwood! Poorly paced, bad acting, messy script, this movie just let me down a lot. I believe it is now time to Clint to retire from movies. He looked very uncomfortable acting, and some of the lines he delivered were cringe. This a old people movie for sure, and if you do want to watch this film, watch with your grandparents. Disappointing Clint, disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyable - sad Not one of Clint's usual movies but nonetheless enjoyable. Clint being a drug mule at his age and the story about him being estranged from his family. I thought it was quite good for what it was.
