Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unique, yet exceptional.... "The Shape of Water" which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2018 is the latest and stylish offering by Guillermo Del Toro, acclaimed director of "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Crimson Peak". This visually opulent film stars Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine), Octavia Spencer (The Help), Richard Jenkins (Dear John) and Doug Jones (Pan's Labyrinth). A bizarre, yet intoxicating film from a director who is deeply immersed in fantasy films for adults. Beautiful music, restrained acting and with a set design and cinematography that will leave you in disbelief; "The Shape of Water" will enchant and move you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Guillermo Del Toro has done it again! The Shape of Water is an beautiful new masterpiece from Guillermo Del Toro. Its everything I had hoped for and more. The Shape of Water is a mesmerising, romantic, dramatic adventure set in a 1960's fantasy world that only Guillermo Del Toro can create. The movie takes you on an amazing journey through innocence, romance, drama and human interactions, showcasing the very best and worst of us. Guillermo Del Toro has been one of my favourite directors for many years now. The Shape of Water is now in my top ten list, along side Pan's Labyrinth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must See Great movie. The cast is just fabulous the standout being Sally Hawkins giving a truly amazing performance, which in my opinion should have got the Acadamy Award.Be prepared to throw your logical thinking aside. The story shows the kind loving side but also the cruel and illogical side of humans. Also an insight to a creature of mystery ,oddity and intelligence .Sit back and just enjoy a adult experience. I loved it..I also won the book ..thanks JBHIFI..which appears to be different in some ways this is ,not unusual as the film maker only has a certain amount of screen time,. I will enjoy it .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rich, Gothic, classic. Another beautifully made movie from Del Toro. This is a fairy tale romance of the rich, Gothic type which this director does so well. True, the hero doesn't get the heroine, but he never wanted to, and the monster is not the one you think. Do yourself a favour: buy this and settle back to immerse yourself in a modern fantasy that will leave you sighing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unusual yet different A boy meets girl film with interesting undertones, set in the cold war period and at times a little underwhelming with a predictable plot.
