Rated 4 out of 5 by from Was this sequel needed? Ridley Scott's impressive 1982 film has generated much publicity over the years. Based on the novella "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?", it quickly became a cult classic. But the real question is, where in Phillip K Dick's work was a sequel suggested? Ryan Gosling ("La La Land"), Harrison Ford ("Blade Runner"), Dave Bautista ("Spectre") and Jared Leto ("Dallas Buyers Club") star in this belated and somewhat bloated sequel (at 2 hours and 44 minutes) which re-examines the tensions between androids and mankind, however the originality of the first film has gone. No Rutger Hauer, Joanna Pacula, Daryl Hannah, Sean Young or Edward James Olmos. And the haunting Vangelis soundtrack? "Blade Runner 2049" is visually stunning and narratively rich, expanding on the original premise of android detection. Extraordinary cinematic achievement for a sequel thirty years after the original conception.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Movie magic I bought this movie since I was unable to go to the cinema.I was told by friends that it was a dark movie. It certainly was not what I expected being a lover of the original.I enjoyed all the technology and the use of futuristic scenes as well as the apocalyptic Earth type scenes..interesting graphics at times and story a little light .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surpassed expectations. I saw this in the cinema when it came out, and it really surpassed my expectations of film coming out now. Yes, there is a lot of utter garbage that comes out, but this one is fantastic. Won't be everyone's cup of tea, but worth a look. Speaking of cup of tea, time to put the kettle on...
