Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compelling to the end. Call The Midwife is without a doubt unmissible viewing. It will have you crying, laughing and touched by some of life's most heart melting moments .. and also at it's most difficult. Every situation unique and handled without judgement, and with the greatest of compassion and understanding. The series depicts life's 'roller coaster' and challanges, both personally and professionally, for both the mid-wives and nuns who served the poor in East End London. In some ways it serves as a reminder to us all in the current society we live in, to occassionly spare a thought for others. Both eras (1950's and 1960's) were depicted faithfully in every way. Brilliant acting on every level. And as one famous Australian often told us, 'Do yourself a favor' ... don't miss it whatever you do.
