The six-part adventure takes place immediately after the first regeneration, as the Time Lord and his companions, Polly and Ben do battle with an old foe on the mysterious planet Vulcan.  How will Polly and Ben cope with a new Doctor?  How will the Doctor take to his new body? Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In colour This is rare Doctor Who. The record shows this was shown once in the UK in 1966, twice in most states in Australia, New Zealand and SIngapore. After a few years the repeat rights lapsed and as the world changed to colour tv the black & white tape and the films were lost. This is Doctor Who from a time when the show was rebuilding after a loss of popularity with a new production team and a strange Doctor that was unfamiliar and unrecognised. This might sound familiar to modern fans (Chibnall, Whittaker, people who whinge about new series 11....) The animation is not perfect. It never will be. Even if the original was somehow found it would probably look old fashioned (at least!). But it's classic Doctor Who. That back of the couch never looked so inviting . And now it's back, in colour and it zings off the screen. If you ever wanted to see the old Doctor Who, don't miss this.
