Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fitting Swan Song I ordered this LP from JB Hi-Fi online a while back and have finally gotten around to reviewing it after many, many listens. It is brilliant and poignant at the same time given David Bowie obviously knew he was going to leave us, as is evident in songs like 'Black Star' and 'Lazarus'. Listening to the record on vinyl seems right and fitting, like a sacred ritual, (but perhaps I'm being a bit dramatic here) - removing the vinyl from the sleeve, placing it on the turntable and lowering the needle & contemplating the booklet insert whilst listening to the music, then flipping the record to play the second side, it's sort of therapeutic and involves you physically with the music. For anyone who has had an even passing interest or appreciation of Bowie's music, this release is a must have, because it is as we now sadly know, his most fitting swan song, a final gift to all his fans.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great album but Vinyl quality suspect I bought this album on white vinyl when it was released from JB. It is a great album up there with Bowie's best. Unfortunately, the vinyl has deteriorated and is no longer playable after merely a dozen listens. I have a Bang and Olufsen turntable and play all types of vinyl and this is the first time I have had a problem like this. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blackstar David Bowie This is now one of my favorite Bowie albums. It is a masterpiece! Bowie left us with this majestic album as his parting gift ... RIP Starman.
