Bruce Springsteen makes a triumphant return with the release of Western Stars, his first new studio album in five years.

Bruce Springsteen’s recording career spans over 40 years, beginning with 1973's ‘Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ’ (Columbia Records). He has garnered 20 Grammys, won an Oscar and a Tony, been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, received a Kennedy Center Honor, and was MusiCares’ 2013 Person of the Year. Springsteen’s memoir ‘Born to Run’ (Simon & Schuster) and its companion album ‘Chapter and Verse’ were released in September 2016, and he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in November 2016. His historic 236-show run of ‘Springsteen on Broadway’ at Jujamcyn’s Walter Kerr Theatre from October 2017 to December 2018 also yielded an accompanying soundtrack album and Netflix special.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Boss is back! Unlike anything you've heard from him before in a musical sense.Lots of sweeping orchestrations and only he could pull this off successfully.Love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from WESTERN STARS - Bruce Springsteen Buying any Springsteen CD is a no brainier for me - I do a solo Springsteen tribute as a guitar/vocalist ... but even as a true blue fan I have to admit this is one downbeat album!! Any album from Bruce without the E Street Band is always going to be ‘different’ but I’m finding this one difficult to like. There are a couple of standout tracks but, generally, the orchestral string/brass themes suggest that Bruce has overdosed on John Ford movies for a couple of months before writing this and it gets tiresome to the ears very quickly!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bruce Springsteen Western Stars The Boss is back with ten beautifully orchestrated tracks , a tribute to 1970's FM radio pop. Bruce channels Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb. Title track , Tuscon Train and The Wayfarer standouts. The Wichita Lineman has returned.
