Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great trap album Trap is everywhere right now. It is the genre of music, with almost any artist you can think of jumping on the bandwagon. However, an album like 'Astroworld' is clearly ahead of the curve when discussing trap albums. Its production flirts with genre-defying influences (WAKE UP's guitar lead comes to mind) as well as having some beautiful synths, sounds and features (CAROUSEL, for instance). There's a bit of filler on the album, for a project that's just over an hour and at 17 songs, it's a mostly consistent and tight project that is highly enjoyable - if not without some issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An outstanding release of innovation Travis Scott doesn't disappoint with a more intimate setting. Strong production and casting crew are fundamental to this track, with a smorgasboard of highly acclaimed artists and producers including Kid Cudi, James Blake, 21 Savage, Tame Impala!, Swae Lee, The Weeknd, Quavo and Offset among others playing a part. The album generally has a smooth, psychedelic/spacey feel which complements very well with the trap hiphop subgenre, but there are still some traditional energetic bangers like Sicko Mode or No Bystanders. Although not as groundbreaking as Rodeo, Astroworld does take you on a colourful ride to places beyond your imagination, a world that only Travis Scott could conceive of, and you can really fall in love with the album, quirks and all. Overall, a fun and dynamic album worth a spin.
