Developed by id software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat – whether you're obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes.

You've come here for a reason. The Union Aerospace Corporation's massive research facility on Mars is overwhelmed by fierce and powerful demons, and only one person stands between their world and ours. As the lone DOOM Marine, you've been activated to do one thing – kill them all.

    Keyu Features

A Relentless Campaign - There is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell's raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock-down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.

Return of id Multiplayer - Dominate your opponents in DOOM's signature, fast-paced arena-style combat. In both classic and all-new game modes, annihilate your enemies utilizing your personal blend of skill, powerful weapons, vertical movement, and unique power-ups that allow you to play as a demon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DOOM goes portable. DOOM was possibly the best shooter released last year, an that's saying a lot considering FPS titles such as battlefield 1 & Titanfall 2 also released last year. The game played like butter, the graphics looked incredible & the old style fused with some new won critics an fans over alike. So the question is how can such a big, bold & darkly beautiful game like DOOM be ported over to the switch? More importantly, now that it's here how does it hold up to its console & pc counterparts? The answer is surprisingly well. A few things off the bat straight away. Anybody expecting this version to look like the console or pc versions is going to be dissappointed. That's not to say the game looks bad, it doesn't. The fact they've managed to make it look as good as it does on the switch is extremely impressive. But the truth is the switch is the least powerful console that supports doom. The trade off is for the portability. It runs at 720p with a locked frame rate of 30fps. Honestly coming from the ps4 version of DOOM this wasn't as jarring as expected. There is a little bluriness surrounding the game but for the most part it still looks amazing, especially in hand held mode. What's important here is that although it's 30fps instead of 60fps that trade off allows the frantic pace and momentum of DOOM to not lose a beat. It plays as good as it did on consoles for me. Some frame rate drops occasionally but nothing to major. It has also had to make some other concessions. The popular "snap map" feature that allows players to make there own levels & maps and share with friends on other versions of the game has also been omitted. It's not entirely unexpected considering how difficult this must've been to fit on to a switch cartridge. But it is still a factor nonetheless. DOOM lends itself greatly to a "pick up & slay" kind of gameplay. Perfect for a 20 minute burst during a lunch break on your switch. Especially with the DOOM arcade mode which is frantic, chaotic and an absolute must play. The multiplayer is the same as on other platforms. For the most part it plays ok. It's obvious Nintendo don't have the right infustracture or servers to 100% run this right. There can be significant frame rate drops an absolute sluggishness in the multiplayer. For me personally the fun outweighs the negatives. But for seasoned online FPS players, this may negate them wanting to play at all. In closing, Nintendo haven't seen a DOOM game on one of there systems since the 64. An if you haven't played one since then or especially this version of DOOM, I highly recommend picking it up. The downgrades are minor compared to the awesomeness of the game an being able to take it on the go. It's an amazing atmospheric, non stop ride of adrenalin fuelled fun.
