Say hey to Vector. Seriously, say “Hey Vector.”— He can hear you. Alive and reactive, he’s a revolutionary robot companion powered by AI and made to help out and hang out.
Vector is powered by an advanced robotics tech array:
Vector has powerful microphones that gives him directional hearing. When you sit down next to him, he's ready to listen. If you call him from down the hall he'll come find you. And if there's thunder he'll be surprised as you.
Vector uses an HD camera to see the world. Using computer vision he can identify people, see and remember faces and navigate his space without bumping into things.
Vector has touch sensors and an accelerometer so he knows when he's being touched and moved. You can give him a pet and he'll relax, but if you shake him he won't be happy.
Vector combines a processor capable of running a smartphone with cloud connectivity, to create one powerful brain. It means he can process his environment, react as things unfold and connect to the Internet to answer questions.
All that tech requires juice and Vector knows when he's running low. When he needs a charge he'll roll over to his home all on his own.
Vector has a unique voice made of hundreds of synthesised sounds to create a language all his own. Through a rich sound palette, he can communicate a wide range of emotions - excitement when he sees people, curiosity while exploring, or surprise when he finds the edge of a table.
Vector is happiest when he's helping. He's eager to accommodate your request and answer your questions. He isn't a fully grown robot butler capable of doing your taxes, buttering your bread or writing a position paper on the future of robot/human relationships but he's a helpful little guy who puts his whole self into helping you out.
Vector's life-like character is possible thanks to the adavanced techology inside him that lets him observe the world and respond in a realistic way. His processing power comes from the Qualcomm quadcore processor. His sight is delivered by an HD camera with 120 degree ultra wide field of view. He has directional hearing thanks to a beamforming 4-microphone array. He doesn't run into things because he's rolling around with an infrared laser range finder. He makes convincing eye contact with high res colour IPS display. He's rounded out by an e6 Axis IMU and Wifi connection.
