How do pre-orders work?

Pre-orders allow you to pay for an item you want ahead of its release day. It's a great way to ensure you get an item that's heavily in demand. Pre-order deliveries generally get dispatched just before the day of release to ensure you get the item as soon as possible after the official release. Click & Collect pre-orders will be ready for collection from your nominated store morning of release.

Please note that “pre-order” does NOT imply that you will receive the item earlier than the official release date. If we have authorisation, we will always endeavour to ship your goods prior to release date so you will receive them as close to release date as possible. However, sometimes embargoes are placed on items meaning that we cannot ship them before the official release date. Please remember to include the standard mail delivery times when estimating when you will receive your pre-ordered item - this additional time is highlighted during the checkout process.

Music, Movie, TV Show and Gaming pre-orders for Delivery

All pre-order items on our site are available to order now. Please note that we allow a pre-order item to be placed with an item already released on the same order. We will split your order so the pre-ordered item comes in its own delivery and the rest of the items ship when they are available.

Consumer electronics pre-orders for Delivery

These items can be pre-ordered, but please remember that they cannot ship until stock arrives in the country and this can be difficult to estimate accurately at times. Manufacturing and freight delays can and do occur and these are out of our control. We will keep you updated on the status of your pre-order and any changes to release date if they do occur.

Click & Collect Pre-orders

Click & Collect Pre-orders placed and paid for prior to the official release date will be available for collection at your selected store from opening time on the official release date. You will receive notification via email and SMS when your order is ready to be collected. Not all items available for pre-order are able to be purchased via Click and Collect.

JB Hi-Fi values your feedback. Our Customer Service Team answer online enquiries between 9am and 9pm AEST Monday to Friday and 10am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday. We always try to respond to enquiries within 48 hours during these times.
