To help get your JB Hi-Fi eGift Card in exchange for your trade-in as quickly as possible, there are a few things you’ll need to have handy.
The device you want to trade-in
We’ll need to know the make and model of your device, and for phones we'll also need the 15-digit unique number that identifies your phone. See the instructions on how to find this here. For gaming consoles, the serial number will need to be entered - this can be found at the back or the bottom of your console.
A valid australian payment card
When you complete your trade-in transaction, you’ll receive a JB Hi-Fi eGift Card allowing you to upgrade to a new device before sending your old device back. Please be aware that a pre-authorisation hold against your nominated payment card (for credit cards) or bank account (for debit cards) equal to the value of the JB Hi-Fi eGift Card is required to secure the issuance of the JB Hi-Fi eGift Card. This pre-authorisation will be released once Assurant processes your device and its condition is verified. If Assurant does not receive your device within 7 days of you being issued the JB Hi-Fi eGift Card, Assurant will process the payment on your card to the equivalent value of the JB Hi-Fi eGift Card. A physical Photo ID – either a Driver licence or Passport and you will need to take a selfie
For privacy and security reasons, your photo ID and a selfie will be used to verify your identity.
JB Trade-In Bonus Coupon Offers
From time to time, customers who receive a JB Hi-Fi eGift Card in exchange for a trade-in may also receive a bonus offer via email to select one JB Hi-Fi Coupon. JB Hi-Fi Coupons are limited time promotional offers only, and are not available with every trade-in.
If applicable to your trade-in, the JB Hi-Fi Coupon selected by you will be sent via email. A limit of one coupon per trade-in transaction applies. The JB Hi-Fi Coupon is redeemable instore or online in a single transaction (excluding airport stores). The JB Hi-Fi Coupon cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer, or for products purchased together with a JB Hi-Fi Device+ plan. The balance is not redeemable for cash.
