Why have I been asked to send my ID to the JB Hi-Fi verification team?

Sadly, illegal credit card and PayPal purchases often occur. This type of identity check is crucial in preventing financial loss to JB Hi-Fi, deterring criminal activity, and in protecting customers like you.

JB Hi-Fi occassionally requests an identity check as part of our fraud protection procedures. 

This is a condition of sale agreed to when purchasing online from JB Hi-Fi (Clauses 6.7, 6.9 and 16.1 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/General/Website-Terms-of-Sale/). 

We do empathise with the reasonable reluctance of some customers in providing this information and appreciate that you may not choose to continue with the completion of your order. 

Any information we collect is done so lawfully and stringently in accordance with our privacy policy and National Privacy Act 1988 (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/General/privacy-policy/).

JB Hi-Fi values your feedback. Our Customer Service Team answer online enquiries between 9am and 9pm AEST Monday to Friday and 10am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday. We always try to respond to enquiries within 48 hours during these times.
