    Overview

The MPG-300WR Platinum Series Electric Guitar has a 'Transparent Wine Red' finish, rosewood fingerboard, black pickguard and chrome hardware.

The set-neck construction allows for enhanced sustain, and the solid-mahogany body provides a warm, well-balanced tone with plenty of grit. Suitable for rock, metal, blues and much more.

This is an impressive-looking guitar with a tone to match!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best guitar to play with I bought this guitar along with the Marshall CODE 25 amp and I must say, it sounds well and plays well, I recommend for beginners and advanced guitarist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money I've had this guitar for a couple of weeks now. Purchased as a beginner guitar. Once tuned it has a great sound and stays in tune. I cannot fault the quality of any component at this stage. I'm not sure if this is the same guitar as the Epiphone SG copy selling for about 3 times the price but they look very similar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely poor quality control Been to a few stores now and each presents me with a different guitar that is either scratched, chipped, or the tone knobs are broken. The last guitar I was given (4th copy) the neck completely snapped off when the manager picked it up. The store I bought it off is ordering a completely new batch for me to choose from so hopefully no further issues. Despite the quality control issue, it seemed to tune pretty well and sounded very good on my 15W Marshall Amp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome price I bought this guitar about a month and a half ago and love it. Great sound and awesome price. I have seen this guitar around other stores for $500.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made guitar The first time I bought this, the rhythm volume nob broke. I returned it and got a replacement however it was very sharp along the bottom and top of the fretboard. The next replacement was again faulty, the wiring of the guitar was all jumbled up and broken when you plug it into your amp. this isn’t a good guitar and every single guitsr of this model (including the guitars on display) have had major problems with with them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful instrument let down by quality control 1st copy: Bridge tone knob not working. Everything else was set up well and looked good. The other 3 required more setup. Pity. 2nd copy: Input plug kept cutting out, scratches, electronics cover plate not flush with body. 3rd copy I looked at in store: Pinholes in fretboard, horrible knot in wood on front of guitar. 4th copy I kept: Two very different tones of wood used split right down the middle of the guitar - very obvious from some angles under some light. Bridge leaning over - intonates but with bridge adjusted to its limits. May cause problems in future if the bridge leans over more with the constant tension of the strings. I don't have the energy to exchange this guitar again or any confidence another copy wouldn't have problems so I'm just going to live with it. It's a Christmas gift from my wife and kids to me and I got it on special so I'm not going to take a refund even if offered. It's a real pity. Once adjusted, it feels almost as nice as my much more expensive Epiphone Plus Top Pro. It sounds quite good for a guitar at this price point. With QC this bad however the perfect SG clone it is not. I've owned other Mounterey guitars without so many issues so it's disappointing to see this lack of QC for their platinum series. If I had paid full price I'd have been more upset. If you do buy this guitar see if they will let you tune it and check it out in store before taking it home.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish i could put 0 stars I literally bought this guitar from a JB store that has little traffic and really shouldnt have these problems. I brought my guitar home and decided to test it out and have a look, there were scratches on it everywhere (including the parts with plastic on them) and the neck had a 3cm crack in it. The make is horrible 3/5 strings were buzzing right out of the box. Don't buy these guitars unless you take them out of the box and test them yourself. Waste of money.
