Description

It's 1968 and the rules have changed.

After years of combat in Vietnam, Lincoln Clay knows this truth: family isn’t who you’re born with, it’s who you die for. Now back home in New Bordeaux, Lincoln is set on escaping a criminal past. But when his surrogate family, the black mob, is betrayed and wiped out by the Italian Mafia, Lincoln builds a new family on the ashes of the old and blazes a path of military-grade revenge through those responsible. Intense gun fights, visceral hand-to-hand combat, white knuckle driving and street smarts will all be needed. But with the right crew, tough decisions and some dirty hands, it’s possible to make it to the top of the city's underworld.

    Key Features

New Bordeaux - A Reimagined 1968 New Orleans.
A vast, diverse and seedy open world ruled by the mob and corrupt officials and richly detailed with the sights, sounds and emotionally-charged social atmosphere of the era.

    An Unintended and Lethal Anti-Hero
Be Lincoln Clay, an orphan and Vietnam veteran hell bent on revenge against the Italian Mafia for the brutal slaughter of the black mob, the closest thing to family he’s ever had.

    Revenge Your Way
Choose your own personal play-style, from brute force and blazing guns to stalk-and-kill tactics as you use Lincoln's military training and gathered intel to tear down the Italian Mafia.

A New Family on the Ashes of the Old
Build a new criminal empire in your own unique way by deciding which of your lieutenants you reward and which you betray...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The poor mans GTA If you enjoyed the previous games, it should be pretty easy to get in to this one. I am not one to mark a game down due to crashes, but you may experience some here and there. The lack of fast travel once you get in to the grind part of the game hurts a little, but is offset by other features. It is quite repetitive, and the AI go hand in hand with that. However as you start to progress, they do get stronger so you may be naturally forced to take more of a stealth approach. The developers did very well with the story and the representation of 1968 Louisiana. Overall another good game in the series, but nothing revolutionary from its predecessors.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Painfully average Let me start off by saying that this is not a terrible game by any means, but it's certainly not groundbreaking. The story can be very repetitive at times and none of the characters really stood out to me. The gun mechanics are solid, however the driving in this isn't fun and doesn't feel nice to drive around in. I'd also like to point out how nice the world is though and the theme was well done. I'd say that this is worth the pick up when it goes on sale, not the worst game I played in 2016.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great story but repetitive gameplay Love the story of Mafia III, very engaging. Although gameplay can be quite repetitive throughout the whole game. Very different to other games such as Grand Theft Auto V and Just Cause 3 as the gameplay is much more realistic and serious so no crazy open world destruction and killing sprees in Mafia III, but you adapt to the playstyle. Worth a buy for sure if you want a captivating story and realistic-ish gameplay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I approve Although the gameplay graphics aren't the greatest Ive seen from a 2016 game it more than makes up for it with its story (of which is told in a really cool documentary style) and its violent/racial depiction of 1960's America. worth the $69

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Game but Improvements required! Great game as stated, the mechanics are typical Mafia. A first person view wouldn't of gone astray. The authenticity is excellent! Shooting and driving leaves much to be desired in these times of gaming, although they do reflect the era they were after, i mean more of the actual user feel [yes even with simulation on]. You can tell 2K pressured Hanger 13 for release as soon as possible. Fuel mechanics would of been great to keep. Lighting is great and something genre changing. First person would of been a nice addition as stated before.
