Description

Inspired by classic science-fiction and its overwhelming sense of adventure and imagination, Hello Games presents a game of unprecedented scale and ambition. In No Man’s Sky you explore an infinite universe where you will discover unique never-before-seen planets and lifeforms.

A mystery lies at the centre of the galaxy, an irresistible pulse that draws you on an epic voyage to discover the true nature of the cosmos. Your journey will be charged with danger, encountering hostile creatures and fierce pirates; in order to survive, you will need to prepare, upgrading your ship, suit and weapons.
Whether you choose to fight, trade or explore, every decision you make has consequences, shaping your journey as you travel ever deeper into No Man's Sky.

    Key Features

    • Explore a universe of possibilities – With over 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 (18 quintillion) possible planets, No Man’s Sky's procedurally generated galaxy gives players an unparalleled opportunity to explore worlds that no one has ever visited before. Exploration is entirely seamless, with no loading screens, whether you're flying from space to a planet's surface or even warping between solar systems.

    • Forge your own path to the centre of the galaxy – Whether you consider yourself a trader, an explorer or a fighter, there’s no limit to how you play No Man’s Sky. You may slip between play-styles freely, from pirate to miner, bounty hunter to surveyor, but know that any action can have lasting consequences.

    • Share your discoveries – Everyone starts No Man’s Sky on the outer rim of the same unexplored galaxy. As you progress, you will come across countless undiscovered solar systems, planets, lifeforms and much more. You can choose to share your discoveries with other players, naming them and adding them to the Galactic Map, forever associated with your PSN ID. You may also share the amazing sights you encounter using PlayStation 4’s share functions.

    • Space combat on a grand scale – Make enemies and forge alliances by joining battles between the factions that occupy the galaxy. Take part in daring raids on trade convoys and audacious attacks on capital ships, claim bounties, and upgrade your weaponry. But be warned: helping one faction may make its enemies yours, too.

    • Trade your way through the galaxy – Violence is not the only route to success. Discovering rare resources and trading them where they are most valuable will help you amass a fortune you can exchange for upgrades and ships that can carry ever more cargo. The rewards will be great, but you'll run the risk of attracting the attention of ruthless space pirates.

    • Prepare yourself for exploration – By upgrading your engines, you can travel further and faster, pushing at the frontiers of the known galaxy. Upgrading your suit will help protect you from radiation and extreme environments that would kill the unprepared. What will you find in these newly accessible zones?

    • Discover a social galaxy – The galaxy is a living, breathing place, with trade convoys travelling between stars, pirates, police and military ships ever ready for action, and planets teeming with life. The same galaxy is also shared by every player of No Man's Sky. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions, as well as your own?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from GOOD NOT GREAT AS A GAME ABOUT DEEP SPACE EXPLORATION THERE IS VERY LITTLE DEPTH TO THIS GAME. IT'S EXCITING AT FIRST BUT THEN YOU FIND YOURSELF REPEATING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER. ITS NOT AN EXCITING GAME. IT'S A WALK IN THE PARK TYPE OF GAME. RELAXING FOR A FEW HOURS BUT GETS BORING IF YOU PLAY IT TOO LONG. I'M STILL PLAYING IT AND LIKING IT BUT MORE CONTENT NEEDS TO BE ADDED IN THE FUTURE. NOT TO MENTION BUGS AND GAME CRASHES IN A FINAL RELEASE GAME IS UNACCEPTABLE. IF YOU LIKE LOTS OF ACTION THIS ISN'T THE GAME FOR YOU. NOT REALLY WORTH FULL PRICE AT THE CURRENT TIME ALTHOUGH HAS THE FOUNDATION AND POTENTIAL TO BE A REALLY GREAT GAME JUST LACKING VARIETY.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost gave it 2 stars I guess it was always going to hard to live up to the hype but I'm surprised by how uninteresting this game is. For an "expansive" universe of quintillions of planets it amazing how quickly they all begin to feel a bit samey. The gameplay is pure grind because it somehow lacks the sense of exploration that the developers were aiming for. Dog fighting in spaceships is unwieldy and difficult. I mostly just avoid it. Inventory management is a pain in the butt. Ultimately the very small "indie' nature of the team that built it is obvious from the get-go. Should not be on the shelves amongst AAA titles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just my cup of tea Let's be clear, this game is not for everyone. If you enjoy a reasonably relaxing game with the option to go do what you want (but have to do a bit of repetitive work to achieve it) then this is for you. If a structured story and set of aims with nail biting excitement is your thing then this is probably not for you. The bugs are being fixed, I have played 50+ hours and only experienced 3-4, although the collision detection can be a bit wonky at times. All in all I have loved playing this game and continue to do so. PS the back story is in the monoliths/relics for the different races, you get a bit a time as you go, the more you encounter the more story you get.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overly ambitious, yet strangely addictive No Man's Sky is a curiosity. It doesn't live up to the hype, yet it's overly ambitious scale still has me playing the game after 45 hours. I can appreciate what the developers were trying to achieve, but sadly the scale of the universe is both it's biggest and greatest flaw. Procedural generation means that we receive a vast universe to explore, but in turn everything that inhabits this universe seems the same, planets, creatures, space stations etc. It's other biggest problem is the lack of story line. Maybe future patches will improve the game and it's feature set, but as it stands at the moment, the game isn't worth the $79 I and many other paid for it. This is a $29 title in it's current form.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shot for the stars and only hit the moon. No mans sky is a very simple game at its core but can be rather complex at certain times. The space travel is amazing and exploring the first dozen planets is awesome, but it's just a shame that after the first couple hours it feels like you have seen it all. This game had so much promise but like most games with this much hype they will always tend to fall short. This game isn't a great game but it isn't a bad game either. Do your research before buying this game too see if it is for you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No mans buy Just like Watchdogs the E3 trailer from 2014 is nothing like what we received and it is nothing more than a over priced tech demo by a small indie development team called 'Hello Games'

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No man's game Played about 6 hours of it and feel like ive accomplished nothing. If you'd like to spiral into depression then this game is for you
Date published: 2016-08-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gameplay is nothing like the trailers The main selling points of this game are endless variety, exploration of space, and ship to ship combat. Unfortunately, after three or four planets everything looks the same, there's no motivation to explore when everything is so boring, and as soon as you have valuable goods in your ship you can be attacked with no way to escape.
