PETG Glitter 3D Printing Filament
3D META's PETG Glitter 3D printing filament adds eye-catching sparkle to the tough, easy-to-print properties of premium PETG. Suspended glitter particles are embedded throughout the filament, producing prints with a subtle shimmer that catches and reflects light from every angle. Built on a premium PETG base, PETG Glitter combines that decorative effect with excellent layer adhesion, impact resistance, and low warping - making it the perfect choice for ornaments, jewellery, props, and any project that should sparkle. Like all 3D META filaments, PETG Glitter is manufactured to strict quality standards and supplied on recyclable plastic spools.
Key Features of PETG Glitter 3D Printing Filament
- Beautiful Sparkle Effect: Evenly dispersed glitter particles give prints a rich, shimmering finish that catches the light from every angle.
- Manufactured with High-Quality Materials: Premium PETG base and engineered glitter additive for consistent visual effect and reliable extrusion.
- Tougher Than PLA Glitter: PETG's impact resistance and slight flexibility make finished prints more durable and less brittle than glitter PLA alternatives.
- Excellent Layer Adhesion: Strong inter-layer bonding produces clean surfaces that show off the glitter effect at its best.
- Low Warping and Dimensional Stability: PETG Glitter prints reliably without warping or shrinking, even on larger pieces.
- Good Moisture and Chemical Resistance: Better suited to humid environments and incidental handling than PLA-based decorative filaments.
- Strict QA Manufacturing: Every spool is checked for diameter, glitter distribution, and print performance.
Applications for PETG Glitter 3D Printing Filament
PETG Glitter is ideal for makers and designers who want a sparkling visual effect with the strength to back it up:
- Ornaments and Decorations: Christmas ornaments, seasonal decor, and ornaments that catch the light all year round.
- Jewellery and Accessories: Earrings, pendants, and accessories that benefit from PETG's flex and toughness.
- Cosplay and Costume Pieces: Add sparkle to props, accessories, and wearables that need to survive a convention day.
- Display Pieces and Centrepieces: Vases, bowls, and table pieces that bring a touch of glamour to any setting.
- Custom Gifts: Personalised, sparkling items for weddings, parties, and special occasions.
Note: For the strongest sparkle effect, use a 0.6 mm or larger nozzle. Glitter particles can clog very small nozzles (0.2-0.3 mm), so we recommend 0.4 mm and above for trouble-free printing.
Storage and Drying for PETG Glitter Filament
PETG absorbs moisture from the air and prints best when stored properly:
- Store in a Cool, Dry, Dark Environment: Use airtight containers or resealable bags with desiccants between prints.
- Drying Recommendations: If moisture is suspected, dry PETG Glitter using a filament dryer, food dehydrator, or enclosed 3D printer at 60-65oC for 4-6 hours.

- What temperature should I print PETG Glitter at?
Print at 220-240oC with a heated bed at 25-80oC. Standard PETG settings work well - no special tuning needed for the glitter effect.
- What nozzle size should I use?
For best results we recommend a 0.4 mm nozzle or larger. The glitter particles can clog 0.2-0.3 mm nozzles, so smaller nozzles are not recommended.
- Will the glitter wear off over time?
No. The glitter particles are embedded throughout the filament, not coated on the surface. The sparkle effect is permanent and stays visible even if prints are handled or lightly worn.
- Can I use PETG Glitter for food-contact items?
No. While base PETG can be food-safe under certain conditions, the glitter additives mean PETG Glitter is not recommended for direct food contact. Use a dedicated food-safe filament or coating for those applications.
