BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK! The Brisbane Lions have created another dynasty, winning the Premiership Cup for the third year in a row with a powerful victory in the 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final!
 
Returning to the MCG for the fourth year in a row on the famous day in September, the Lions were too strong for Freo. A false-start against the Swans at the SCG in their Qualifying Final meant they had to battle it out against the Crows at the Gabba in a Semi-Final, where they were victorious. The Lions and Hawthorn were locked in for a mighty Preliminary Final, but the Lions roared home with the win and booked a spot in the Grand Final against the Fremantle Dockers. Maroon, Blue and Gold filled the MCG stands to watch history be created. A three-peat once again, Chris Fagan’s men claimed Premiership Glory and continue to rule the pride with a roar that continues to echo!

2026 AFL PREMIERS - FREMANTLE DOCKERS

It was Wharfie Time at the G! The Fremantle Dockers have finally clinched their first Premiership Cup, winning the 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final!

Finishing the season on top of the ladder, the minor premiers secured a home Qualifying Final against Hawthorn. A stumble in that match meant they were set to face the Geelong Cats in a Semi Final. Freo proved they don’t lose at home two weeks in a row and finished the match victorious, locking in an exhilarating Preliminary Final against the Sydney Swans. Both teams fought tooth and nail, but Freo gave them the old heave-ho and locked in their second ever Grand Final appearance, this time against the Lions. The Purple Army made the trip from the West to fill the stands of the MCG to see their beloved squad finally clinch their long-awaited first Grand Final win. Coach Justin Longmuir and Captain Alex Pearce lifted the Premiership Cup in their historic win, one the Fremantle Dockers faithful will never forget!
