AFL - Premierships Collection: Geelong
Not yet reviewed.
In the mid-2000s, something special was beginning to happen down at Kardinia Park. Quietly and assuredly, coach Mark Thompson was building a team that would become premiership powerhouse. It was a team that would go on to bring home three flags within five years during the most successful period in the club’s history.
In 2007, after a dominant home and away season, the cats did a demolition job on Port Adelaide in the Grand Final. In 2009, it was a pulsating decider against St Kilda in which the cats prevailed. And a nail-biting win over Collingwood in 2011 secured their third premiership in five years, affirming their position as one of the greatest teams of the modern era. For Geelong fans, those glory years, and the players that carried the expectations of the cats’ faithful – Cameron Ling, Gary Ablett Jr, Jimmy Bartel, Paul Chapman, Matthew Scarlett, Cam Mooney, Tom Harley, Steve Johnson and many more – will live long in memory.
Sit back and enjoy all the memories of the Geelong Cats’ historic 2007, 2009 and 2011 premiership seasons, with full grand final replays and official AFL premiers season highlights programs.
