First World Blues
Gold Coast five piece BB Factory, have an impressive track record in channeling sounds from the authentically classic and gritty side of blues, funk, rock and roll and gospel.
A cracking live band with seasoned international musos oozing from their ranks, their new album, 'First World Blues' demonstrates the band's righteous approach to capturing their renowned live sound
Opening with a pumping 12 bar blues workout, driven by the band's exemplary rhythm section, the album continues with an insistent blues-rock belter with organ driven, gospel undertones, carried on home by the powerfully expressive vocals of US born vocalist Harold Jackson in 'Save Me' (a #1 itunes Blues/Roots chart single).
Meanwhile, 'Howler' grinds and oozes along to a bluesy swamp rock vibe, the track's latter half elevating off the back of a stinging guitar break and some howlin', funk infused vibes. Further album highlights include the percussive heavy, Latin-infused jazz-rock burner 'Like Fire' and the catchy 'Blues For You' (also #1 iTunes Blues/Roots chart single).
By the time the album's final, slow burning blues number, 'It's Over' comes around, it's time to reflect on the realisation that BB Factory have delivered a dazzlingly authentic, real-deal manifesto of their 'First World Blues'. Get onboard!
