At the age of 21 (and the height of five foot one) Micachu is the most singular artist leading the future-pop frontier. Micachu is equally at home making brilliant leftfield pop, as she is composing for orchestras and making mix tapes that mash up dubstep, grime, garage and pop, Jewellery is a visionary peek at the infinite musical carnage that hurtles through her brain 24-hours-a-day. Mica's near-ADD attention span is omnipresent across the album, jumping from eerie plundered atmospherics to hypnotic skiffle-beat guitars, to disintegrating fuzz-fest electronics and spasmodic synth flinches. Jewellery is produced by Matthew Herbert (who has worked with Bjork, Jamie Lidell and various other folk Micachu sounds nothing like). It's the aural equivalent of a chameleon: a multi-coloured, multi-layered conflation of ground breaking sounds and ideas.
