Three spheres in a matte gold finish, cut through with intricate scrollwork that lets the warm white LED glow escape in a pattern rather than a wash. Matte is the choice worth noticing. A glossy gold reflects the room back at you, but matte absorbs and softens, so what you see is the glow itself.
Three sizes, 10cm, 12cm and 15cm, designed to be grouped. Each has a concealed battery compartment taking 3 x AA, so they can sit anywhere without a cord dictating the arrangement.
Set them on a sideboard, a hall table, or among greenery down the centre of the table. Gold suits almost every Christmas scheme, and lit from within it reads as considerably more expensive than it is. An easy gift for someone whose house is always the one people want to visit.
