Overview

The Fiat CR 32, designed in the early 1930s, was a biplane powered by a V 12-cylinder engine producing 600 hp and reaching a top speed of 375 km/h. It was celebrated for its exceptional manoeuvrability, reliability, and armament, including two 12.7 mm Breda-Safat machine guns located on top of the engine, firing through the propeller disc.

The CR 32 saw action with the Legionary Air Forces during the Spanish Civil War and proved superior to Soviet-made monoplane fighters like the Polikarpov I-16. Even the Tupolev SB-2 bomber was not immune to its agility.
