'The L Word' tells intertwined stories about a group of women -- some lesbian, some straight -- in Los Angeles. Among the show's varying story threads are a young writer (Mia Kirshner, '24') who, unknown to her boyfriend (Eric Mabius), is starting to develop romantic feelings for another woman (Karina Lombard); a committed couple (Jennifer Beals and Laurel Holloman) who are considering a family; and a tennis pro (Erin Daniels) who's still in the closet.

SEASON 1 - Set in the chic world of Los Angeles, this humor-laced dramatic series explores the lives of a group of lesbians, their friends, family and neighbors. The series takes a smart, sexy and fun look at the hopes, dreams and lives of these people as they deal with things like career struggles, relationship issues and the pressures of trying to start a family. The show provides a fresh look at everyday life, told with passion, frankness and humor.

SEASON 2 - Set in the chic world of Los Angeles, this humor-laced dramatic series explores the lives of a group of lesbians, their friends, family and neighbors. The series takes a smart, sexy and fun look at the hopes, dreams and lives of these people as they deal with things like career struggles, relationships and the pressures of tying to start a family.

SEASON 3 - The third season of the hit show, The L Word, follows a group of friends - both gay and straight - through stories of career, family, inner struggle, friendship and romantic relationships. Stars Jennifer Beals, Erin Daniels, Leisha Hailey, Laurel Holloman, Mia Kirshner, Katherine Moennig, Sarah Shahi, Rachel Shelley and Pam Grier.

SEASON 4 - Season 4 picks up with the women wrestling with issues close to their hearts. As with previous seasons, old demons rear their ugly heads and a host of new characters are brought into their fold, offering them access to a broader community with diverse issues. This season, the war in Iraq becomes an integral part of Alice's (Hailey) life as she struggles to move on after the death of Dana; Helena (Shelley) tries to find financial independence and come to terms with leaving behind a world of privilege; Phyllis Kroll (Shepherd) -- who takes the courageous plunge late in life to come out of the closet -- risking everything that has defined her life up to now; and, Bette (Beals) has to deal with Jodi Lerner (Matlin), a woman who confronts her head-on about her Type-A personality.

SEASON 5 - Five times the Love! Lust! Laughs! Longing! Unresolved romances and a long-simmering film project finally bear fruit in this season. Dreams come true and new life paths are forged for many of the series' characters but not without The L Word's trademark provocative storylines, sizzling sexuality, and heart-rending emotion.

SEASON 6 - As in previous seasons, THE L WORD revolves around the lives of a tight-knit group of women living in Los Angeles, women who are all trying to navigate and learn from where life and love takes them. In its sixth and final season, if there has been any shift in tone from previous seasons, it may be that within eight episodes, the writers were able to capture and deliver the intimacy that fans may feel reminiscent of the pilot.
