The LG 55" QNED86B EVO AI Mini-LED 4K TV suits streaming, HDR movies and gaming, including PC gaming. It has a 120Hz panel, four HDMI 2.1 inputs, VRR up to 144Hz for PCs and Dolby Vision support.

Mini LED picture and colour

This TV has Mini LED backlighting with Precision Dimming, which is designed to improve detail, clarity and brightness. It uses Dynamic QNED Colour Pro in place of quantum dots, and Intertek has tested it for 100% colour volume to the DCI-P3 colour space.

This TV has the alpha 8 AI Processor Gen3, which means lower-resolution content is upscaled to 4K, so older shows and free-to-air TV fill the screen more cleanly. Results depend on the source.

Gaming and connections

This TV has a native 120Hz refresh rate, which means fast motion looks smoother. Motion Rate 200 is a processing figure rather than the panel's refresh rate.

This TV supports VRR from 40Hz to 144Hz with AMD FreeSync Premium, which means less screen tearing when you're gaming. The 144Hz mode works with PC-connected content only. Gaming in this range needs compatible content, a compatible console or PC graphics card and an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.

This TV has four HDMI 2.1 inputs, which means you can plug in a console, a gaming PC and a soundbar without swapping cables. There are also two USB ports, Ethernet and an aerial input for the HD tuner.

Movies and sound

This TV supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, which means movies and shows made in these formats have more detail in the bright and dark parts of the picture.

This TV can pass Dolby Atmos through HDMI eARC, which means you can hear Atmos soundtracks on a compatible soundbar or AV receiver connected with one cable.

Smart TV and apps

This TV runs webOS, which means Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Binge, Kayo, Paramount+, Foxtel Now, BritBox, YouTube, Twitch, ABC iView, SBS On Demand, 7Plus, 9Now and TenPlay are all in one place. Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Binge, Kayo, Paramount+, Foxtel Now and BritBox require an additional subscription and internet connection at additional cost.

This TV has Google Gemini for AI search, and Google Cast and Apple AirPlay 2, which means you can find shows more easily and share from phones and tablets. AI features need Wi-Fi and acceptance of terms, and some may need a subscription.

This TV can record and pause live TV to USB storage, which means you can pause a broadcast or save it to watch later. It works with Google Home, Philips Hue, LIFX and TP-Link Kasa, and includes voice control, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. Security updates will be received until 31 December 2030.
