The LG 86" QNED86B EVO AI Mini-LED 4K TV is a good fit for bigger rooms used for streaming, movies and sport, with gaming features for a current console or PC. It has Mini LED backlighting, a 120Hz panel, Dolby Vision and four HDMI 2.1 inputs.

Mini LED picture and colour

This TV has Mini LED backlighting with LG's Precision Dimming, which means it's designed to lift brightness and contrast. It uses Dynamic QNED Colour Pro for colour, and is tested by Intertek for 100% Colour Volume to the DCI-P3 colour space.

This TV has the alpha 8 AI Processor Gen3, which means picture and sound settings are adjusted automatically. It also upscales lower-resolution content to suit the 4K screen, which means older shows and free-to-air TV fill the screen more cleanly. On a screen this size, the quality of the source still makes a clear difference.

Gaming and connections

This TV has a native 120Hz refresh rate and four HDMI 2.1 inputs, which means smoother motion in supported games and room to plug in a console, a gaming PC and a soundbar without swapping cables.

This TV supports variable refresh rate (VRR) and AMD FreeSync Premium, which means less stutter and tearing when you're gaming on a compatible device. VRR runs from 40Hz up to 144Hz. This needs a compatible console or PC graphics card, compatible content and an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, and the 144Hz mode is for PC-connected content.

It also has two USB ports, Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3.

Movies and sound

This TV supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, which means movies and shows made in these formats have more detail in the bright and dark parts of the picture. Dolby Vision needs Dolby Vision content. It also has a 24 fps cinema mode for films.

This TV has HDMI eARC with Dolby Atmos pass-through, which means you can connect a compatible soundbar or AV receiver for bigger sound, and send Dolby Atmos soundtracks to it.

Smart TV and apps

This TV runs webOS, which means Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Kayo, Binge, YouTube, ABC iView and SBS On Demand are all in one place. Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Kayo and Binge require an additional subscription and internet connection at additional cost. Smart features need Wi-Fi and acceptance of LG's terms and privacy policies, and services may change.

This TV has Google Gemini built in, along with voice control, which means you can control the TV with your voice. It also has Google Cast and Apple AirPlay 2, which means you can share content from your phone.

This TV has an HD tuner for free-to-air TV and can record or pause live TV to a USB storage device. Security updates are provided until 31 December 2030.
