It’s not often the word “masterpiece” rolls off the tongues of film critics but that is precisely the case with gothic fairytale Pan’s Labyrinth. A potent tale about the end of innocence it is director Guillermo del Toro’s most ambitious film to date. Set against the backdrop of Fascist Spain, del Toro skilfully weaves between brutal reality and spellbinding otherworldly adventures

A potent tale about the end of innocence it is director Guillermo del Toro’s most ambitious film to date. Set against the backdrop of Fascist Spain, del Toro skilfully weaves between brutal reality and spellbinding otherworldly adventures. Carmen (Ariadna Gil) and her daughter Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) move into the house of her new husband, the coldly authoritarian Vidal (Sergi López), a captain in Franco’s army. Finding her new life hard to bear, the young girl seeks refuge in a mysterious labyrinth she discovers next to the sprawling family house. Pan, a magical creature, reveals that she is none other than the long lost princess of a magical kingdom. To discover the truth, Ofelia will have to accomplish three dangerous tasks. Pan’s Labyrinth is a captivating testament to the power of the imagination. Special Features: NOTE: Still To Be Confirmed!
