Fast, accurate AF and intuitive MF
Linear-motor focus drive ensures fast, precise AF and tracking, and focus breathing is effectively suppressed for smooth, professional looking movies. The linear motor drive system and circular aperture unit are quiet too, so movie audio won't be spoiled by lens noise or vibration. Linear Response MF supports intuitive manual focus when needed.

Small, light, and extraordinarily versatile
Optimised projection reduces size to 63.1 x 82.8 mm (2-1/2 x 3-3/8 in.) and weight to 314 g (11.1 oz.). This lens is an ideal match for E-mount bodies, minimising fatigue in long handheld shooting sessions while enhancing mobility. Internal zoom maintains ideal balance at any focal length, and a rear filter holder accepts standard sheet filters.

Detailed zoom and focus control
A zoom lock switch can be used to quickly lock zoom at any of three preset focal lengths for repeatable fisheye framing. A Focus Mode switch allows easy selection of AF, MF, or FH (Focus Hold). Focus Hold can be used to lock focus at a point set in MF mode, preventing unwanted changes. A Click ON/OFF switch is provided for the iris ring.

Natural 3D VR content production
The 63.1 mm diameter of this lens makes it ideal for shooting natural-looking 3D and VR content using a dual-camera setup. The left and right lenses can be set up at a distance of about 64 mm, matching the normal human interpupillary distance for natural spatial reproduction and impressive depth. Fisheye width enhances the immersive effect.

Reliable in challenging outdoor conditions
A dust and moisture resistant design ensures high reliability in outdoor conditions where rain and airborne dust might otherwise be a problem. The front lens element features a fluorine coating that prevents contaminants from sticking to the lens surface while making it easier to clean.
