Watershed, KD Lang's second Nonesuch album, indeed represents a significant juncture in her 25-year career as a recording artist - a collection of eleven new original songs produced, for the first time, by Lang herself. Lang recorded Watershed in Los Angeles with such longtime collaborators as keyboardist Teddy Borowiecki, guitarist David Pilch and pedal steel player Greg Leisz, plus special guests the trumpeter Jon Hassell and banjo virtuoso Noam Pikelny (of the Nonesuch quintet the Punch Brothers).
