From growing up on a sheep farm in western NSW to a UK debut at Glastonbury Festival via hundreds of Country Halls; the 2x ARIA and 10x CMAA, 3x AIR awardwinning artist Fanny Lumsden’s highly anticipated 5th album is set to be her boldest move yet.
Recorded live with her touring band the Daddies, at Soundpark Studios in Melbourne with Steven Schram, Traditions is powered by songs that swing from rural heartfelt storytelling to moments of driving guitar, to bluegrass inspired and even features a river duet with tour mate Paul Kelly.
The record demonstrates a real shift in Fanny’s song writing, closing with the stark but beautiful Difficult Woman. Traditions follows Fanny’s ARIA winning, Dolly Parton Certified 4th album, Hey Dawn which debuted at #1 on the Australian Album ARIA charts, was he 4th highest selling country album of 2023 and Fanny’s second album in a row to crack the ARIA global top ten. Released in her own label Red Dirt Road Records, Fanny’s recreating what it looks and sounds like to be an independent artist forging her own path.
