Melting are quickly becoming one of Australia’s most promising new metal acts. Sophomore EP A Pathetic Excuse For A Life, is unrelenting, and heavier than ever, with the Melbourne four-piece taking aim at the people who make life hell, channelling frustration and aggression into a sound that balances blistering speed with crushing, sludgy weight. Recorded at Sydney’s The Brain, the EP embraces a stripped-back approach, favouring raw intensity over layers and polish. Drawing on their collective influences, Melting deliver a cohesive and uncompromising record that hits hard from start to finish, with an underlying thread of resilience running beneath the chaos.
