Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds like it costs at least $500 more I bought this turntable after returning my ATLP120 due to its anti-skating being defective. I knew with this model there was no built in pre-amp, but a phono box seemed like a welcome upgrade after enjoying the sound so much from my LP120. I ended up pairing the Pro-Ject Phonobox S with this model, and I can tell you right now that the sound I am receiving from this is leaps and bounds better than what my LP120 could offer before I returned it. The OM10 cart/stylus on here produces a true quality, bass heavy sound without compromising the highs. In my opinion, it's competitive with the 2M red, but in my experience, the reds always seemed a bit warm in their sound. The turntable is clean, there's no unnecessary labelling, the belt doesn't slip off the platter and the arm is quality with next to no inner-grove distortion. I suppose my only issue is that when I try to turn it on, it slips across my table a bit, so it could do with weighing a bit more or perhaps having more grippy feet.
