The BWT955 features 4K Video Playback* with native 4K pictures, simultaneous recording of 3 TV programs with 3 tuners, and flexible viewing with TV Anytime. High-Clarity Sound Premium provides excellent sound quality.

    Key Features

    Triple HD Tuner
Record 3 Programs Simultaneously in HD Quality*, so there’s no need to worry about missing out on recording a program when three programs overlap. Can record to both hard disk drive and Blu-Ray/DVD disc.

    Series Recording
Easy Settings for All Your Favourite Series. By registering TV programs such as dramas with the Series Recording function, they can be automatically recorded and stored each time they are broadcast. This eliminates the possibility of forgetting to record each program and lets you watch the programs at any preferred time.

    TV Anytime
Easily Watch TV Programs Anywhere You Please. Lets you watch both recorded programs and live broadcasts on your smartphone or tablet. You can watch them or stream them at home or on the go.

    4K Direct Chroma Up-scaling
Highly Realistic Image. The new UniphierLSI Chip uses unique picture-enhancing technology to convert BD content into 4K images. Both detail and colour reproduction levels are four times as high as Full-HD, for truly beautiful images.

    High Clarity Sound Premium
For the music source, High Clarity Sound Premium function further improves sound quality. This switches off digital video processing circuit (and HDMI output circuit in case of analog connection) for much improved sound quality.

    4K Networking
Experience the High-Quality 4K World. This single unit can bring the ever-expanding world of high-quality 4K content into your home. In addition to its 4K playing ability*, it lets you record 4K content (25/30P) onto its built-in HDD, and view 4K video taken with a LUMIX camera or a camcorder, via an SD card.

    Internet Apps
Wide Variety of Online Content. You can access various content and services through the Internet and home networks. In addition, this recorder lets you enjoy content in a wide variety of fields, including sports, games, music and more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Close, but no cigar! This is my fourth Panasonic PVR and has by far the highest spec. It is also the smallest, lightest and easiest to use. The three tuners, web streaming and a 2Gb hard drive are all brilliant BUT If like me you've spent a few years living overseas, or even if you're just a keen DVD collector, you probably have plenty of non-Australian (ie not region 4) discs in your collection. WARNING! BAD NEWS! After years of deactivating DVD region controls, Panasonic has quietly reactivated them on this model. Result: over half of my DVD collection is now unplayable on this device. Yes, that has left me deeply unimpressed. But for everything else, it is as good as I'd hoped.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cannot download recorded programmes to PC update I wrote recently about not being able to download recorded programmes from the Panasonic Recorder to a PC. My assignment of ratings was based solely on this. This is still an issue for me but after research I found that most new recorders and all the new UHD TV sets now have this feature. The good news for me is that my local JB HiFi store took back the Panasonic and refunded the full amount including the extended warranty I purchased. I consider this to be excellent customer service by JB HiFi and I will continue to make purchases from them as I have done in the past.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good PVR with a few niggles I bought this to replace the previous Panasonic model Blue-Ray recorder PVR. The additional tuner and larger HDD make it more functional but there are a couple of problems. I cannot now extend a recording time more by than a few minutes as I could with the previous model which allowed me to extend the recording time with no limitations. It will not play the H265 format which has now been out for some time. On one occasion the REC light continued flashing and the recording did not start (this failure never happened on the previous model). It will still only play DVD's with region code 4 which is contrary to Australian Government legislation. (I had to take the previous model in to Panasonic to have the firmware changed and you would think that they would have fixed this for Australian sold machines). This means that I cannot play my collection of region 2 DVD's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Triple Tuner a Winner There's a lot to like about BWT955GL. Foremost is the three tuners: it resolves programming issues I had with the previous twin-tuner DVD recorder. When free-to-air channels are increasing, twin-tuners become increasingly inadequate. The second great feature is Keyword Recording: it supplements Timer Recording, which has a limit of 32 recordings. Input "Titanic" and all programmes with the keyword in the title will be recorded (unless there are scheduling clashes). BWT955 is not merely a PVR, but a Blu-ray disc recorder. It plays Blu-ray films as well as export to blank discs. Rewind and Pause Live TV are also noteworthy features. BWT955GL gives incredible control of one's free-to-air TV viewing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A breeze to use! I am ecstatic with this recorder... I can record three shows at the same time whilst watching a DVD if I want to. It's brilliant and so easy to use and set up. As a retiree I was concerned that the set up would be complicated but I did it all myself!! Didn't have to ask anyone to help me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must have HDMI connection to TV Bought yesterday to replace my old DVD recorder which failed (an LG RC 195), negotiated a good price, took it home, read the manual but saw the small print at the foot of page 16, "This unit cannot connect [to] the TV that does not have the HDMI terminal" - even though the salesman assured me that it has composite outputs (the red, white, yellow cables). What to do? Return it to the shop, or buy a new TV with an HDMI input? Fortunately, I swapped to a spare TV with an HDMI input, then easy to set up. Good TV reception, good playback of DVDs. Not yet tried recording to a DVD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is going straight to the pool room ! I purchased this product 1 month ago and has met all my expectations. The product was easy to install using HDMI outlet. The triple tuner means I can record 2 programs while watching another. The remote control was compatible to my current 8 year old non Panasonic television meaning I don't have multiple remotes on my coffee table. Netflix option on the remote makes Netflix a breeze. 2TB of space on the HDD never going to run out if space anytime soon. The high definition programs seem a lot clearer. Thinking seriously about getting another one for the other TV.
