Rated 5 out of 5 by from Booms for your bucks I purchased this unit after returning a different brand machine that was less than satisfactory. To say all Blu-ray players are the same to there price range is wrong. This machine delivers, the circuitry in this machine is excellent for audio file reproduction. If you have a decent amp and speakers. than for a budget priced machine you can't go wrong . picture quality is excellent, audio "Wow", you just don't shake your room, I am more than impressed, great unit at a great price. Well done Panasonic.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No WI-Fi; Blu-Ray I’ve had this player for a while now; never realised it didn’t have WI-Fi built into it so cannot use Netflix unless I run an Ethernet cable across the house. Plays Blu-Rays okay; have had some issues with glitchy video play back at times. The load up times and menus navigation is pretty slow as well. Not as bad as others have had here, but this doesn’t get used all that much as it’s not our main player. For the price it does the job; bit annoyed it doesn’t have wifi capabilities. It’s basically just a player with no bells and whistles. There are probably better players out there at this low price bracket so better to shop around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from all the features and now half the size The new Panasonic blue ray DVD player is smaller than the previous model and fits nicely in my small cabinet, the remote has all the features so no need for lots of buttons on the main unit also on screen menu is easy to follow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value I bought this to replace my now-dead BD65 which I'd had for about 6 years. The most notable differences were the small size of the BD84, the lack of a digital display on the unit and the lack of stereo outputs on the back. This is a nuisance for me as I was using my old player as a CD drive for my stereo system. Panasonic have also changed the menu screen, which I found less likeable than the BD65. The remote control is also much smaller than my old one but since they are both on the same channel, I can use either. Load times were considerably faster than the older machine, which I hoped they would be as it had been something of an annoyance in the past (First World Problem!). There is a limited range adjustments for the picture but it is possible to customise the look of the BD84 to suit personal tastes. Panasonic do not sell this player with DVD Region coding disabled. If you need this done, you ring them and get an order number. Then you take your player to an authorised service centre where they will do it, usually while you wait. It's a significant inconvenience and if the idea doesn't appeal, there are other Blu-ray players in this price bracket that are worth a look. Overall, the BD84 represents good value for money. Panasonic have obviously gone on a serious cost-cutting mission to keep the price down but the player still performs well. Pros: good picture and sound, fast load times, small size, included internet apps Cons: DVD Region locked, lack of frontal display, lack of stereo connectors, basic setup options

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constantly freezing Hi guys, I recently purchased the Panasonic blu Ray player. The price was right and I was happy...... until I got it home and started to use it. Ever since the movie went in it freezes. These are legit not burnt movies. When it freezes no button on the controller will work and it needs to be switched off and on via the power point. This happens about every 45 minutes. I would return it but I threw the box away the day I opened it :( my advice is to stay away from this product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Keeps freezing Got one of these and kept freezing even on brand new discs. Entire unit locks up and had to pull power cable to reboot. Exchanged it for another one thinking I'd got a did but the replacement is doing the exact same thing.
