Which Apple Watch is the best?

Short answer? Series 11. If you want the latest, smartest, smoothest Apple Watch yet, this is the smart watch to beat. But “best” doesn’t look the same for everyone, and that’s why JB’s range is stacked with options to match your vibe, your goals, and your budget.

Here’s what else you’ll find on the shelf:

  • Apple Watch SE – Specifically, the Watch SE 2024. It features a clean design, core health tracking, solid battery life, and a price that makes sense.
  • Apple Watch Ultra – Built like a beast. The Watch Ultra 3 is a sports watch made for hikers, divers, endurance freaks, and anyone who needs serious power on their wrist. Big screen, bold design, mega battery, and all the pro-grade sensors.
  • Apple Watch Series 10 – Still capable, sharp and stacked with health tools. Great if you want premium features without going all-out on the newest release.

Are Apple Watches Worth It?

Definitely. The sheer number of features and quality tech packed into every model makes getting an Apple Watch an easy win. The latest Apple Watch Series 11 takes it even further, especially when it comes to health tracking. You’ll get advanced sensors and smart insights to help you stay on top of things, day or night, by monitoring your:

  • Blood oxygen levels
  • Heart rate
  • Sleep
  • Breathing patterns
  • Calories burned
  • And heaps more!

How Do Apple Watches Monitor Sleep?

Your Apple Watch tracks sleep using built-in sensors to measure movement, heart rate, and skin temperature, then breaks it all down into sleep stages like REM, core and deep sleep. You’ll wake up to clear, easy-to-read insights about how long you slept, how well you slept, and what your body was up to overnight.

It’s all done automatically, and with Series 11, it’s even more precise. So you’re not just guessing how last night went. You’ve got the data to back it up.

How To Pair An Apple Watch

As long as your phone or tablet is nearby and Airplane Mode is off, pairing your Apple Watch is a piece of cake. Here’s how:

  • Turn on your Apple Watch and bring it close to your iPhone.
  • Open the Watch app and tap “Start Pairing”.
  • Choose to set up as new or restore from backup.
  • Sign in with your Apple ID if needed.
  • Set wrist preferences and app layout.

While the Apple Watch works with any iPhone, it’s best paired with an iPhone running the latest iOS, like the new iPhone 17.

Does Apple Watch work with Android?

No. Android phones and Apple Watches use different operating systems, so they won’t talk to each other. But there are plenty of Apple products your Apple Watch will talk to.

Are Apple Watches waterproof?

Apple Watches are water-resistant, not waterproof. That means you can wear them in the rain, the shower, or during a sweaty workout without stressing. Most models, including the latest Series 11, are swimproof too, so a few laps in the pool won’t be a problem. Just don’t take it deep-sea exploring.

If you're rocking the Apple Watch Ultra 2, you've got extra water resistance built in for high-impact water sports and dives up to 40 metres.

*Battery life varies by use and configuration; see apple.com/au/batteries for more information.

*Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a water resistance rating of 100 metres under ISO standard 22810. It may be used for recreational scuba diving (with a compatible third-party app from the App Store) to 40 metres and high-speed water sports. Apple Watch Ultra 2 should not be used for diving below 40 metres. Water resistance is not a permanent condition and can diminish over time. For additional information, see support.apple.com/au/HT205000.

*Emergency SOS requires a mobile network connection or Wi-Fi calling with an internet connection from your Apple Watch or a nearby iPhone.
