    The Nintendo Switch console.

The package will include the main console, Joy-Con (L) and Joy-Con (R) controllers, a Joy-Con grip (to which two Joy-Con are attached and used as one controller), a set of Joy-Con wrist straps, a Nintendo Switch dock (which holds the main console and connects it to a TV), a HDMI cable and an AC adapter.

Nintendo Switch is a breakthrough home video game console.

It not only connects to a TV at home, but it also instantly transforms into an on-the-go handheld using its 6.2-inch screen. For the first time, players can enjoy a full home-console experience anytime, anywhere. The screen includes capacitive multi-touch capabilities for compatible games.

Battery life can last for more than six hours, but will vary depending on the software and usage conditions. For example, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can be played for roughly three hours on a single charge. While away from home, Nintendo Switch can be charged by plugging the AC adapter into the console’s USB Type-C connector.

The versatile Joy-Con offer multiple surprising new ways for players to have fun.

Two Joy-Con can be used independently, one in each hand, or together as one game controller when attached to the Joy-Con grip. They can also attach to the main console for use in handheld mode, or be shared with friends to enjoy two-player action in supported games.

Each Joy-Con has a full set of buttons and can act as a standalone controller, and each includes an accelerometer and gyroscope motion sensor, making independent left and right motion control possible.

Nintendo Switch also contains a number of built-in features that make it more interactive. The left Joy-Con has a Capture Button that players can press to take instant screenshots of gameplay to share with friends on social media. The right Joy-Con includes an NFC touchpoint for interaction with amiibo figures, as well as an IR Motion Camera that can detect the distance, shape and motion of nearby objects in specially designed games. For example, it can tell how far away a player’s hand is, and even if the hand is forming a rock, paper or scissors shape.

Both Joy-Con include advanced HD rumble, which can provide compatible games with subtle vibrations that are much more realistic than before. The effect is so detailed that a player could, for example, feel the vibration of individual ice cubes colliding inside a glass when shaking a Joy-Con. With HD rumble you can experience a level of realism not possible through sights and sounds alone.

Nintendo Switch makes it easy for players to stay connected.

Up to 8 consoles can be connected for local wireless play. The player can place the console upright anywhere by using the built-in stand, then easily share Joy-Con for multiplayer fun away from the TV. The console will support online Wi-Fi multiplayer gaming.

Nintendo also unveiled a new online subscription service that will begin with a free trial at launch. The service includes a smart-device application available in winter 2017 that will let users invite friends to play online, set play appointments, and chat with one another as the play compatible games. The fully featured paid service will be available in spring.

    Nintendo Switch Parental Controls

As a parent, it's not always easy to keep an eye on your children's time spent with entertainment devices. The Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app is a free smart device app to help you easily monitor what and how your children are playing.

    • Monitor gameplay time - you can set a time limit for how long your child is allowed to play.
    • Monitor what your child is playing - you can see which video games your child has been playing, and for how long.
    • Restrict your child's gaming access based on their age.

If you do not have a smart device you can also set certain restrictions on Nintendo Switch directly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what it's advertised to be. Impressive. This is my first Nintendo console since the GameCube. It's a very impressive portable device. Zelda looks fantastic in handheld mode, and certainly good enough when docked. It's a games console first and foremost, so if you're looking for a generalised tablet, look elsewhere. I suspect more features will be added as it goes along. My only recommendations would be to perhaps get a Pro Controller if you're going to play it docked most of the time. And an extra charging cable can be handy so you don't have to unplug it from the dock when you leave the house. Overall, if you know what the Switch can and can't do before you buy it, I reckon you'll be happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Switch-mas! I've been excited about the Nintendo Switch ever since it was announced as the "NX" at Nintendo's investor meetings. The Switch lives up to all the hype, and then delivers some more. It's already got a rich library of the games, that is only growing with every passing day. The versatility of the system in its ability to shapeshift between its 1080p home console ("TV mode") and handheld incarnations makes this an ideal console for handheld fans like me, and the two player co-op afforded by the detachable joycons adds yet another feather to its cap. The Switch is definitely worth buying! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nintendo's Best Piece of Hardware to date The Switch is a bold prospect, but one which ultimately delivers in every way it should. Whilst the UI and Software side of things are still a bit bare, the physical nature and build quality of the Switch are exceptional. Sliding it into the dock to have it appear on your TV is effortless, the joycons are surprisingly robust and tactile (although I personally hate the thumbsticks) and you can get about 3 hours of solid Zelda playtime on the go. Also the fact it uses USB C instead of some weird specific charger is going to be super useful, especially as more and more phones adopt it. Overall a fantastic console and the best feeling piece of hardware to date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nintendo Handheld Dream! Ive owned the switch since day of launch and have been playing zelda breath of the wild. Playing such a huge game on a handheld is absolutely mindblowing! Also being able to just so easily dock the console and continue playing on my gaming monitor with the pro controller truley makes the console feel strong enough to hold its own as a modest home sonsole as well as being the best handheld gaming device available. I feel like Nintendo has delivered a huge success and dont understand the mixed reviews coming in as i have not yet experienced one issue! (:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Concept and Console I love my Nintendo Switch. I got my Switch about 2 months after launch since I was going to wait and make sure the launch issues were fixed. And I am so happy with my Switch. It is the perfect combination of portable and in-home gaming. The Switch got critisized for it's Nvidia Tegra Processor and it's lack of power. I completeley disagree with this. Coming from a proud PC gamer, I believe the GPU performance on the Switch is perfectly fine, for two reasons. 1. Nintendo have never been about amazing or realistic graphics, they just want their users to have fun. 2. Playing the Switch on it's small screen really doesn't make me notice the minor details, and even on the big screen, it looks fine. My Nintendo Switch has really brought back some nistolgia for me and I am so excited to see this concept explored by Nintendo and various game developers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fun and charming gaming device For now, the Switch is little more than a machine for playing Zelda Breath of the Wild, but I'm eager to play more games as they come out. Playing Zelda itself is a great experience, either when it's connected to the TV or I'm relaxing somewhere with the system in portable mode. I've tried a few other games including 1 2 Switch, Fast RMX, the Splatoon 2 beta and they use the comfortable controls of the Switch incredibly well. Perhaps wait for more games to come out, but I'm glad I bought my system already.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Console gor all ages I bought this gift for my 8yo son for christmas. The decision to buy this was solely because other consoles focused alot on higher aged rating games and i could hardly find any games appropriate for his age. The Nintendo switch offered games for his age as well as the option to limit time use through parental controls. Christmas day he played it on the tv at home and the next day he continued to play it as we went on our family holiday in the car on the portable tablet. I would recommend this to any parents of children it was the best console i have ever bought. I love the games as a parent and adult and it's graphics and quality is well above standards. This console is for all ages it truly covers everyone's wants in a console unlike the rest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nintendo know what they are doing I'm going to go through a list of "complaints" I have heard about the switch 1. "There are no games for it" - Yep, that's quite valid. It has an awesome lineup and Zelda on it right now (which I have clocked over 100 hours in by now and still have so much I want to do) If game quantity is something you need, hold off on this for now but keep it on your wishlist. 2. "The battery life is terrible" - This thing is *not* a handheld as it's primary. What it is, is the ability to have someone watch TV or play another console while you sit on the couch throwing bombs at fish then throwing them in fire. 2.5+ hours for a home console is pretty snarn good, which can still be stretched up to 6 hours when playing less intensive games than Zelda 3. "My screen is scratched by the dock" - Be careful when you dock the thing. I thought this was common sense but some video's I've seen it's no wonder they got damaged. Also get a screen protector for it ASAP because that's just good practice and I do it for any device that isn't bolted to a table. 4. "[Some variation of a technical fault]" - I'm sorry to hear that, stuff like this happens and you should be entitled to a replacement. You will hear more stories of faults than working consoles. You should be fine. 5. "My joy-con controller clips got stuck" - Again, that sucks. I have tried this fearfully, but they didn't get stuck myself. I think it's a manufacturing fault with some of them if clipped on incorrectly. 6. "Controllers lose sync" - This can happen, but if it does just move them out from behind your leg or whatever is blocking them. It's physical interference that causes this and a thing they can fix with future versions quite easily from what I've seen. Now that all the bad is out of the way, here is the good. 1. The switch controller is my favourite controller to date, and makes me want to throw out my super expensive xbox elite controller (I won't) 2. Zelda is amazing and I can go on about it all day. The complaints I have heard about it are aspects that I find make the game more enjoyable or so minor that saying they are outweighed is an understatement. 3. We have one TV in out house right now. Yet we can have one playing Switch, one on the WiiU, and one playing the PS4 or watching a movie. This console is the end of fighting over the TV with parents and siblings and where the portability really sells itself. 4. Power out? Pop it out. Done this three times already 5. Sleep mode means you can turn it off and resume where you left off without losing any time or progress. 6. There. Is. A. Screenshot. Button. Just, dedicated screenshot button. I got withdrawal when I swapped to the PS4 because I couldn't take pictures. 7. The UI is beautiful and streamline. Does exactly what it needs to with no useless add-on's. 8. Visual quality is amazing. It is not top of the range, but for what is effectively a tablet, this thing does incredibly well. I also love the stylisation of games when they are given this limitation. 9. Joy-cons break into two, or join to be one. This is great for multiplayer. 10. It's just.... Such a nice console to use. It's a device that makes me want to play on it, I will be buying so many games a second time just to get them on the Switch. (Stardew Valley is a no-brainer) SUMMARY: If you are concerned about the limitation of games, just get it later when it has them. Probably in a bundle or something even. Aside from that, I prefer this console by itself to any other console on the market.
